The Long Corridor is one of the most impressive places I've ever been. It's a painted corridor that extends along a lake behind the Summer Palace in Beijing, China. The corridor features hundreds (maybe thousands) of paintings depicting scenes from famous Chinese novels. Quite a few show the Monkey King and his buddies. In the one above, the Monkey King fights his way out of the Crucible of Eight Trigrams, in which Lao-tzu tried to smelt him. Check out that tiger-print loincloth!

To the right is a photo of me (in the yellow shirt) in the Long Corridor. The kid to the right of me looking up at the paintings is Kevin, one of my students.
